Things must change at Man United under Ten Hag, says Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed confidence in incoming manager Erik ten Hag’s ability to bring trophies to the club in the upcoming season. However, Ronaldo emphasized the importance of allowing the new manager sufficient time to implement the necessary changes for the team to become a formidable force.

Despite Ronaldo’s individual success with 24 goals in all competitions, the previous season was disappointing for United as they failed to secure a spot in the Champions League, finishing sixth in the Premier League. Ten Hag, who arrives from Ajax with a successful track record, is set to take over from interim coach Ralf Rangnick.

In a video released by the club on Friday, Ronaldo acknowledged Ten Hag’s achievements at Ajax, leading them to three league titles and two Dutch Cup triumphs. He emphasized the need for patience in adapting to the changes Ten Hag aims to bring. Ronaldo stated, “I hope we have success, of course, because if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. So, I wish him the best.”

Expressing excitement among both players and supporters about the new era under Ten Hag, Ronaldo conveyed his optimism about winning trophies in the upcoming season. Addressing speculation about his own future after a trophy-less campaign, the 37-year-old affirmed his contentment in Manchester, highlighting the significance of returning to a club that played a crucial role in his career.

Ronaldo stated, “I was and still am very happy to be here. The most important thing for me is to try to win the games and try to win some championships… but I believe that Manchester will be back where they belong. Sometimes it takes time, but I still believe.”
